The great thing about photos is that they provide a snapshot of the reality perceived at that moment.
If I take a romantic picture of a forest path, you don’t see the cornfields full of “future” cattle feed, sprayed with poison that damages the health of the adjacent forest.
And that’s actually quite nice.
I love going to museums because I can completely lose myself there, lost in the paintings that transport me away from the complexities of everyday life.
I try to deal with the present though in a non-escapist way. This book helps me with that. It’s not just a kilogram of paper. It sits on a table where I’ve experienced beautiful moments and in a house where I feel at home. It was written by and thanks to a team of idealistic people who believe that a healthy mind can only reside in a healthy body and that a plantbased diet is the key to a personal contribution to a better world.
You might see a book that doesn’t interest you as much as cat videos, but in this book you’ll find a world of information that is so much more interesting than any dopamine rush from superficial entertainment. And it could save your life. And the lives of countless innocent animals.
In photo 2, you see an expensive bottle of prostate pills “suitable for vegans”…
Fun fact and book spoiler: vegans have much less prostate problems.
